To run BlackBerry® Desktop Software v4.0, you’ll need the following:
- An Internet/email-enabled computer with an Intel™ 486 or higher processor
- One available USB or serial port
- The Microsoft ® Windows ® operating system in one of these versions:
- With a USB port: Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows 2000, Windows XP
- With a serial port: Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6 or higher
- Microsoft Outlook 98, 2000, 2003, XP (Corporate or Workgroup Installation) or Lotus Notes ® 4.6, 5.0, 6.0, 6.5 (for enterprise email integration)
- Email account on a Microsoft Exchange Server version 5.5, 2000, 2003 or IBM® Lotus ® Domino® Server version 4.6, 5.0, 6.5 (for enterprise email integration)

Note: BlackBerry Desktop Software v4.0 works with RIM 850™, RIM 857™, RIM 950™, RIM 957™, BlackBerry 5800 Series, BlackBerry® 5790, BlackBerry 6700 Series, BlackBerry 6200 Series, BlackBerry® 6510, BlackBerry 7100Series, BlackBerry 7200 Series, BlackBerry® 7510, BlackBerry® 7520 and BlackBerry 7700 Series .
