Overview
The BlackBerry® Enterprise Server Resource Kit is a collection of useful tools and other resources to further help IT Departments administer and manage their BlackBerry® Enterprise Solution. Each software release of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server Resource Kit is compatible with its respective version of BlackBerry® Enterprise Server for Microsoft® Exchange, BlackBerry® Enterprise Server for IBM® Lotus® Domino® or BlackBerry® Enterprise Server for Novell® GroupWise®.
The BlackBerry Enterprise Server Resource Kit Tools are divided into two separate software downloads, the BlackBerry Enterprise Server User Administration Tool and the Analysis, Monitoring & Troubleshooting Tools.
BlackBerry Enterprise Server User Administration Tool:
- BESUserAdmin — Allows administrators to perform user and Smartphone administration on the command line level
Analysis, Monitoring & Troubleshooting Tools:
- AdminHistory – Audits configuration changes to the BlackBerry Enterprise Server environment and outputs to a .csv file
- AvailIndex — Analyzes log files and produces a snapshot report of user activity for a certain time in a .csv file
- BESSysLog — Provides Administrators with real-time monitoring of BlackBerry Enterprise Server log events
- DelayedNotifications — Allows administrators to detect when Blackberry Enterprise Server is no longer receiving notifications for new email in a timely fashion
- Enterprise Activation Status Tool — Provides the ability to monitor the changing activation status of a BlackBerry smartphone and to troubleshoot activation issues.
- HistoricalStats — Checks usage patterns of individual users and provides statistics on a per-day, per-user basis
- LogMonitor — Monitors a text file for one or more events and allows Administrators to specify actions that they want the tool to perform after it finds a value that meets the set criteria
- MapiCdoErrors — Allows administrators to scan the logs for common mapi/cdo errors and custom events they wish to choose
- MDSPushvsPull — Enables Administrators to monitor whether the BlackBerry® Mobile Data Service is processing more data by push or by pull
- MessageConfirmService — Provides Administrators with real-time verification that the BlackBerry Enterprise Server is sending messages to BlackBerry devices
- MessageFlow — Tracks the flow of mail from the mail server through the BlackBerry Enterprise Server to the BlackBerry® smartphone and provides statistics in a .csv file
- NoResponseCheck — Analyzes the logs for threads reporting as non-responsive to differentiate between non-responsive and slow threads
- OutOfCoverage — Checks for users who have not sent/received in a specified period of time
- Pending — Tracks messages pending delivery in BlackBerry Enterprise Server
- Upgrade IT Policy Template Tool — Allows administrators to upgrade the IT policy template for the BlackBerry® Configuration Database with new BlackBerry smartphone policy rules without upgrading the BlackBerry Enterprise Server software.

Support
Direct support for the BlackBerry Enterprise Server Resource Kit is available for BlackBerry Technical Support Services customers (Level 1 and above).
Please initiate a request or report an issue through the My Service Requests tool in the Technical Knowledge Center. For each created case, correspondence will occur through email.
Note: Support hours are from 08:00 to 20:00 EST Monday through to Friday.
Upgrade
A new version of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server Resource Kit will follow after each posting of a BlackBerry Enterprise Server version release. The BlackBerry Enterprise Server Resource Kit will generally not include hotfixes or development builds after each release.
Note: Please ensure that your version of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server Resource Kit matches the version of BlackBerry Enterprise Server you are running. For example, if you have BlackBerry Enterprise Server v4.0 Service Pack 3 for Microsoft Exchange, you should be using BlackBerry Enterprise Server Resource Kit v4.0.3.
